KTVU News Room

After switching to an open floor plan, the main news room at KTVU in Oakland, CA, experienced an excess of distracting noise throughout the space. PMI studied the noise profiles, levels, and spectral content, then designed a package of acoustical solutions to tame the din.

Strategically located sound absorber modules, coupled with directional speakers for the police scanners, reduced the interference and overall noise levels. The staff can now work collaboratively without the overwhelming sonic activity of the news room.
